Turkey’s finished Steel output fall 17.3% in Jan-Aug: TCUD
ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkey’s finished steel production decreased by 17.3% year-on-year to 22.2 million tonnes during January-August 2019, according to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
Long steel production declined by 24% year-on-year to 13.2 million tonnes and flat steel output decreased by 5.5% to 8.9 million tonnes, in the given period.
Total finished steel consumption decreased by 27.7% year-on-year to 16.7 million tonnes in the first eight months of 2019.
Domestic flat steel consumption dropped by 14.3% to 9.7 million tonnes and long steel products consumption down by 40.6% to 7 million tonnes during the period, the association said.
